Course Description
Fashion design is a comprehensive course that covers the entire process of creating and producing designed garments. The course begins with the basics of fashion design, including understanding body shapes, measuring techniques, and design principles.
Students will learn how to create sketches and technical drawings, as well as use design software to create digital renderings of their ideas. They will also learn how to select appropriate fabrics, trims, and embellishments to achieve the desired effect.
The course then moves on to the practical aspects of tailoring, including pattern making, cutting, and stitching techniques. Students will learn how to use a range of sewing machines and tools to construct garments, as well as how to alter and fit garments to meet the specific needs of clients.
Throughout the course, students will be encouraged to develop their creativity and explore new ideas in garment design and tailoring. They will also be introduced to the business side of the fashion industry, including marketing, pricing, and customer service.
By the end of the course, students will have a comprehensive understanding of the garment design and tailoring process, as well as the skills necessary to create high-quality, customized garments for a variety of clients and occasions.
